Researchers have found after 18 months with a mentor, children were 65 percent more likely to obtain a higher level of education than they thought was possible. Davis said over the years 18 OK Program boys have gone on to graduate from local colleges.

(WIBW) Statistics show that young boys who grow up without a positive male role model in their life are more likely to resort to violence and live in poverty, and those numbers are hitting the African American community the hardest. Around 75% of all African American households are run by a single mother.
