OUR HISTORY
The O.K. Program was established in 1990 at Mills Middle School in Rancho
Cordova, California.
The program was designed to reverse the grim statistics that young African
American males were facing…namely, the high rates of incarceration and homicide.
Since 1990, the O.K. Program has won many awards including several national
awards.In 1992, President George Bush recognized the O.K. Program as the 945th Daily
Point of Light for the Nation. |

In 1994, it won the Jefferson Award in recognition of outstanding public
service, and in 1995 it won the National Association of Attorneys General “For
the Children Award”.
In the spring of 2005, the O.K. Program became a national organization.
